The Campaign for Real Ale is the pub-goers champion. We promote fine beers in great pubs and defend the rights of the drinker. If you drink beer or like pubs CAMRA is the place for you!

St. Neots "Booze on the Ouse"

The 33rd "Booze on the Ouse" Beer Festival will be the St Neots Beer Festival Priory Centre, Priory Lane, St Neots Thursday 18th - Saturday 20th, March, 2010. 50+ real ales will be available over the course of the festival. Local ciders will be available, as well as a variety of foreign beers.

Opening times:
Thursday 5pm-10.45pm
Friday All day; 12 noon-10.45pm
Saturday All day; 12 noon-10.45pm

Volunteers always welcome!. CAMRA members who wish to help out at the festival should contact the festival organiser, Andy Shaw, by emailing: festival@huntscamra.org.uk.

Pub of the Year: Chequers at Little Gransden

The Chequers at Little Gransden is once again the Huntingdonshire CAMRA branch Pub of the Year. Run by the same family for almost 60 years, this village local also now features beers brewed on site by Bob Mitchell at his "Son of Sid" brewery (some of which will be available at the upcoming St. Neots Beer Festival).

The Green Man at Leighton Bromswold was also highly commended by the branch committee.

CAMRA National News

CAMRA, has welcomed the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee Report on Pub Companies which demands major reform in the way the Large Pub Companies operate.

CAMRA has today expressed its discontent at the move by Carlsberg UK to ship its iconic Tetley's cask brand from its Yorkshire heartland to Marston's of Wolverhampton.

The Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield, has once again been crowned National Pub of the Year for 2009 for the second year running, making it the first pub in history to win the award in consecutive years.

CAMRA has today appointed a new National Chairman to lead its 110,000 members.

CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, has reached agreement with the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to stay its appeal to the Competition Appeal Tribunal challenging the OFT's initial response to CAMRA's super-complaint in October 2009.
